Save Money on Disney Souvenirs - Before Your Vacation

Disney World souvenirs can be quite expensive, but are a fun part of any vacation. You can save some money on souvenirs by purchasing toys and stuffed animals, before you leave home. You can save these souvenirs to give your family during your Disney World vacation. One of our favorite souvenir tricks is to pack some smaller souvenirs in a back pack to carry around the parks. When the kids get anxious in line or waiting for a show to start, you can pull out the toys. Another fun idea, is leaving a stuffed plush or toy on the table in your resort room. Once the family leaves the room, you can sneak back in and leave a note from "Mickey Mouse" and a stuffed plush on the table. It makes a great surprise for the kids, when they get back from the parks.

There are several places online to purchase Disney souvenirs including Disney's website called Disney Direct. These prices are less than Disney World prices. This website also has an Outlet section to save even more money on toys, clothes, and Disney stuff.

Another great source of Disney souvenirs is the Disney Store. This store is now owned and operated by Children's Place. Disney Stores are located in malls across the country, plus you can now purchase items online at Disney Shopping. These prices are similar to the Disney Direct prices except you can get some amazing deals during sale promotions in the local stores. The exact same Mickey Mouse plush at Disney World is $24 and at the Disney Store is $10.

You can get wild souvenirs that you cannot find at Disney World from Cast Member clothes to props from a ride or attraction or even furniture from your favorite Disney Resort. You can bid on these items right on Ebay. It is a fun way to get some souvenirs from Disney at great prices.

Update for Animal Kingdom Lodge Visitors

If you are booked at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge Resort for your vacation, we have some updates that will affect your vacation. Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge is closing down half of the rooms (inventory) by the end of July. Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge is in the middle of building a new resort, so the construction is affecting some of the guest satisfaction at this resort. Disney wants to make sure all guests have a wonderful experience, so they are closing all rooms that may be affected by the construction. All of the main areas at this resort are still open and operational, but half of the guest rooms at the resort will be closing down.

If you are currently booked at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge Resort, Disney Reservations will probably be calling you about 2 weeks before your Disney World vacation to offer to move you to another Deluxe Resort. This is actually to your benefit because they are offering the "more expensive" Disney Resorts for the exact same price as Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge Resort. The resorts they are offering at the same price are Disney's Yacht & Beach Club Resort, Disney's Boardwalk Inn Resort, and Disney's Contemporary Resort. All of these resorts are much more expensive than Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge Resort and have many more resort and in-room amenities.

We know this may be a surprise to most guests that you may have to switch resorts after your vacation is booked. With the construction going on at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge Resort, Disney wants to make sure guests enjoy their vacation without hearing the construction noises that go along with building a new resort. With this reason, Disney is offering these complimentary upgrades. We always love these opportunities because you will get to stay at a nicer resort for less money! It is a great opportunity to take advantage of during your visit. This resort move is only if you are booked at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge Resort. August-September Disney World Discounts

Disney kicked off the latest discount promotion for vacation dates of July 29-September 29. If you already have your tickets, you can save money on a room only reservation at one of the Disney World Resorts from $69 per night plus tax (at a Disney Value Resort). If you need a package with room and tickets, you can book the Magic your Way Packages and save money on your tickets and your room accommodations. You can even add the Disney Dining Plan to your package to save an additional 40% off meals at Disney World.
