Update for Animal Kingdom Lodge Visitors

If you are booked at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge Resort for your vacation, we have some updates that will affect your vacation. Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge is closing down half of the rooms (inventory) by the end of July. Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge is in the middle of building a new resort, so the construction is affecting some of the guest satisfaction at this resort. Disney wants to make sure all guests have a wonderful experience, so they are closing all rooms that may be affected by the construction. All of the main areas at this resort are still open and operational, but half of the guest rooms at the resort will be closing down.

If you are currently booked at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge Resort, Disney Reservations will probably be calling you about 2 weeks before your Disney World vacation to offer to move you to another Deluxe Resort. This is actually to your benefit because they are offering the "more expensive" Disney Resorts for the exact same price as Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge Resort. The resorts they are offering at the same price are Disney's Yacht & Beach Club Resort, Disney's Boardwalk Inn Resort, and Disney's Contemporary Resort. All of these resorts are much more expensive than Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge Resort and have many more resort and in-room amenities.

We know this may be a surprise to most guests that you may have to switch resorts after your vacation is booked. With the construction going on at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge Resort, Disney wants to make sure guests enjoy their vacation without hearing the construction noises that go along with building a new resort. With this reason, Disney is offering these complimentary upgrades. We always love these opportunities because you will get to stay at a nicer resort for less money!
